Brochure Features New Murphy 232 Marine Diesels

Operating details on its new 232 Series of four-stroke marine diesel engines are described in this brochure, re^ased by the Murphy Diesel Company. The line includes seven models of engines, in V6, V8 and V12 configurations, and range in horsepower from 95 to 500, with operating speeds of 1,500 to 2,500 rpm.

The brochure notes the compact 60°-Vee angle of the cylinders permits a narrow design, which results in a rugged marine engine offering high output and excellent fuel economy, with reduced space requirements.

Its compact design reportedly also permits multi-engine installations where higher output is required. Engines can easily be remotely operated and monitored from the wheelhouse, according to Murphy Diesel.

Complete engine-performance snecifications, dimensions and weights are listed in the brochure, along with details on packaged generator sets for shipboard use. Suggested applications include fish/workboats, high-speed police and Coast Guard vessels, yachts, passenger boats, heavy-duty barges and tugs.

The 232 Series Marine Engine brochures are available by writing to Lee Delaney, Murphy Diesel Company, 5317 West Burnham Street, Milwaukee, Wis. 53219.
