Samson Ocean Systems Describes Pierside Mooring Systems

Samson Ocean Systems, Inc.

has made available a new engineering report detailing its Pierside Mooring Systems utilizing Samson Traction Winches as deck machinery and Samson braided ropes for the mooring lines.

The four-page report includes several diagrams and photographs which illustrate the system's use for berthing and holding a secure mooring.

The Samson Traction Winch Systems, using the company's double braided rope, offer significant advantages, including easy adaptation to all kinds of ships and barges, highly secure mooring through the use of taut hawsers, absorption of surges without high tension, and significant vertical changes with respect to the pier can be made without readjustment of the hawsers. Typical traction winch specifications are also included in the report.
