CF Industries Names David Titus Manager Seagoing Operations

David Titus has joined CF Industries, Inc., Salem Lake Drive, Long Grove, 111. 60047, as manager, seagoing operations, according to R.A. Wilson, vice president, transportation and marine operations.

In his new capacity, Mr. Titus will be responsible for the operation of a new ocean tug/barge currently under construction. The new vessel, capable of carrying 25,000 tons, will be utilized by CF Industries to move phosphate fertilizers from Florida to the mouth of the Mississippi River where the cargo is transferred to smaller river barges.

Mr. Titus, a native of the Seattle, Wash., area, studied engineering at the University of Wisconsin and spent 10 years with the United States Coast Guard, where he specialized in the area of electrical vessel components.

Before joining CF, Mr. Titus spent 10 years with Petersen Builders, Inc., a shipbuilding firm in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. Most recently, he had served as assistant to the chief engineer.

CF Industries' Transportation and Marine Operations is responsible for the management of Agri- Trans Corporation, a barging company owned jointly by CF and five Midwest grain marketing cooperatives. Agri-Trans will operate the new tug/barge for CF Industries under a long-term contract.
