NASSCO Announces Three Promotions In Repair Department

National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO), San Diego, Calif., recently announced promotions in the shipyard's Repair Department, as follows: Ed Hann, formerly repair superintendent, has been promoted to general superintendent-repair.

He replaces Bob Nolde, who has retired. In his new position, Mr.

Hann will be responsible for all activities relative to the Repair Department, and will report to John Smith, production manager.

He has been with NASSCO since 1965, when he retired from the Navy.

Keith Rader has been promoted from assistant supervisor-repair to repair superintendent. He will report to Mr. Hann. Mr. Rader also is a Navy retiree who has been at NASSCO four years.

Helmut Schwarz, formerly assistant to the executive vice president and general manager, Larry French, has been appointed manager-repair estimating and contracts. He will report to Mr. Smith. Mr. Schwarz joined NASSCO in 1974. Previously, he worked for Blohm & Voss Shipyard in Hamburg, Germany, Ingalls Shipbuilding Division of Litton Industries, and Avondale Shipyards, Inc.
