B. Orsi Joins PFEL In Top Management Spot

John I. Alioto, president of Pacific Par East Line, Inc., San Francisco, Calif., has announced the appointment of Bernard Orsi as vice president of Marine Operations.

Mr. Orsi, 33, has been general manager of San Francisco's civil service division since 1971. Prior to that, Mr. Orsi was executive aide to former Mayor Joseph L.

Alioto and later coordinated the Mayor's 1971 reelection campaign.

More recently, Mr. Orsi served as acting port director from August 1974 to January 1975.

Mr. Orsi will coordinate the steamship company's marine operations activities with F.C.

Bradford, senior vice president of Marine Operations, Mr. Alioto said.

"I am delighted with the appointment," Mr. Orsi said, "and look forward to working with the enlightened and progressive management at Pacific Far East Line." Mr. Orsi, born in San Pedro, Calif., is a graduate of Saint Mary's College and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

Mr. Orsi is Secretary of the Italian Federation of California, Treasurer of the Transport Workers' Union Trust Fund, Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors of the Transport Workers' Union, Director of Columbus Civic Club, a member of the Board of Directors of the Economic Opportunity Council, and a member of the Mayor's Criminal Justice Council.
