Bulk carrier Seagrand Ace has been delivered by Nai- kai Zosen's Setoda yard to Seagrand Company, Ltd. at 150 rpm, which gave a trial speed of 17.76 knots. Normal engine output is 9,750 bhp at 145 rpm providing a full-load service speed of 14.8 knots.

DESTROYER DELIVERIES CONTINUE—

The 29th ship in the series of jet-powered, multi-mission Spruance-class destroyers, de- signed and built by Ingalls Shipbuilding Di- vision of Litton Industries, officially entered the U.S. Navy fleet in recent commissioning ceremonies at Pascagoula, Miss. The Fife (DD-991) joins 13 other ships of the DD-963 class operating with the Pacific Fleet, and will be homeported in San Diego. A total of 15 more of the 7,800-ton, 563-foot ships are now operating with the Atlantic Fleet. Comdr.

Bulk Carrier Delivered By

Naikai Zosen Setoda Yard

The 26,977-dwt bulk carrier Seagrand Ace, constructed at the Setoda Shipyard of Naikai

Zosen, an affiliate of Hitachi Zosen, was de- livered recently to Seagrand Company, Ltd.

The new vessel is a diesel-driven, single- screw, single-decker type bulk carrier, with an aft engine room, forecastle, and poop.
