Oceaneering Acquires Search And Salvage Firm

The acquisition of Steadfast Marine, Inc., was recently announced by Oceaneering International, Inc. of Houston, Texas.

Steadfast Marine is headquartered in Falls Church, Va., in the Washington, D.C., area, and specializes in marine search and recovery, accident investigation, towing, and navigation.

Steadfast Marine's customers included government and military clients, airlines, and oil companies.

They hold the U.S. Navy contract for search and recovery worldwide, and have successfully located and salvaged over 125 aircraft and missiles in water depths ranging from 20 to 7,000 feet.

Oceaneering chief executive officer J. Wesley Rogers said in making the announcement: "Steadfast Marine's president, Bob Kutzleb, and his staff are the world's best search and recovery team. Their expertise will complement and strengthen Oceaneering's capabilities." Mr. Rogers also stated that Steadfast will operate as a subsidiary of Oceaneering's Offshore Survey Group, where their specialized abilities and experience in standard and high-resolution sonar will combine with survey's worldwide logistics and positioning expertise.
