APL Completes Its Top Management Realignment

J. (George) Hayashi, senior vice president of American President Lines, has announced the final elements of the company's management realignment.

Most of the changes occurred at the time of Mr. Hayashi's appointment as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

The operating divisions, all of which report to Mr. Hayashi, include operations, marketing and traffic, corporate planning, North America area, and Asia area.

Reporting to W.B. Hubbard, senior vice president of operations, are H.T. Haller, vice president, marine operations; Eugene K. Pentimonti, vice president, land operations; Frank K. Riley, vice president, industrial relations; Donald C. Orris, vice president, corporate inland transportation services; and C.J. Seiberlich, director, defense planning.

Reporting to T.J. Rhein, senior vice president of marketing and traffic, are Michael E. Uremovich, vice president, marketing; Stephen F. Schmidt, vice president, traffic; Raymond A. Velez, vice president, pricing and conference affairs; and H.P. Young, director of breakbulk services.

Corporate planning will be headed by Richard L. Hill, vice president. Lorenz P. Robinson, vice president, will continue to head North America area, and Nolan R. Gimpel, vice president, will assume responsibility for the Asia area this summer.
