Navy Orders Hydrographic Launches From Uniflite —Literature Available

The U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command has awarded a contract valued at $601,000 to Uniflite, Inc., fiberglass boat manufacturer headquartered at Bellingham, Wash., for three 36-foot hydrographic survey launches, according to James J. Doud Jr., Uniflite president.

The contract contains an option clause for five more of the launches during fiscal 1984. Delivery of the first three will be to a naval installation at Bay St.

Louis, La., in early 1984.

The 36-footers are carried aboard survey ships of the Navy's Oceanographic Office. Each is powered with a single 8V-71 t u r b o c h a r g e d and intercooled Detroit Diesel engine, and is equipped with a 7.5-kw Onan diesel generator set for A.C. electric power.
