Senior Appointments Announced By CN Marine

Two senior management appointments in CN Marine's Newfoundland services have been announced by the president, Rupert Tingley, effective June 1. Donald G. Newman has been named manager, Gulf service at North Sydney, while W. Peter Embleton becomes manager, coastal services, in St. John's.

Mr. Newman joined CN Rail as an operations research analyst in 1973. He transferred to CN Marine in 1976, and has held increasingly responsible positions and became assistant to the manager, Gulf service, and most recently was special assistant to the president.

Captain Embleton served 14 years as a seagoing officer with CP Ships, obtaining his master's certificate in 1958. He held a number of shore-based positions from 1963 to 1980, including marine superintendent and general manager-operations at Racine Container Terminal, Montreal.

He joined CN Marine in 1980, and was appointed operations manager of the coastal service
