The Elliot liferaft was the first raft to be given USCG approval and it has maintained its reputa- tion for highest quality over the years—many of the original Elliot rafts are still in active service.

RFD-Elliot purchased the man- ufacturing rights and complete in- ventory for the Elliot liferaft and all Elliot product lines last year. It has since gone into full production of the entire line at its headquar- ters in Riviera Beach, where the company stands ready to service any and all needs in the safety and survival field.

Edwards Will Succeed

Stonebreaker As President

Of Halter Marine

Jack Edwards

Steve Stonebreaker has re- signed for health reasons as presi- dent of Halter Marine, Inc., and

Jack P. Edwards has been named to succeed him. The announce- ment was made by W. Ray Wal- lace, president and CEO of Trin- ity Industries, Inc., which owns the New Orleans-based shipbuild- ing company.

Mr. Stonebreaker joined Hal- ter in 1978, when he created and directed the Halter Incentive Pro- gram. He rose through progres- sively more important executive positions until his appointment as president in December 1983.

Mr. Edwards came to Halter from Ingalls Shipbuilding in 1970 as an estimator, and has served in several capacities including assis- tant general manager of the Moss

Point, Miss., division, manager of that division, and eastern area production manager. He was pro- moted to vice president-production in February 1984, with overall re- sponsibility for production at Hal- ter's six shipyards, as well as the quality assurance and warranty programs.

The K Major Mark 3 is a four- stroke, direct injection, turbo- charged and intercooled engine built in 6, 8, and 9 cylinders in- line models and 12 and 16 cylin- ders in 45-degree V-form. Like all engines in the K Major range, the

Mark 3 is specifically designed to burn residual fuels reliably and ef- ficiently. The engines conform to

ISO 3046 Specifications and meet the requirements of all the classi- fication societies.

Power outputs at bmep of 275 psi range from 3,650 bhp at 500 rpm for the 6-cylinder K6 to 11,680 bhp at 600 rpm for the 16-cylinder
