The Faculty of Engineering is seeking an internationally recognized scholar to fill a recently established Chair in Hy- draulics The Chair was established to develop further the teaching and research capability of the Faculty in areas such as ocean engineering, naval architecture, hydrody- namic modeling, and hydraulic and coastal engineering

Qualifications include a Ph.D., or an equivalent level of pro- fessional accomplishment in Mechanical, Civil, or Ocean

Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Applied Mathematics, and the candidate should have attained national and inter- national recognition as an authority in one or more of the above areas.

The successful candidate will be appointed as a Visiting

Professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the Technical

University of Nova Scotia The initial incumbent will also be appointed to the Department of Mechanical Engineering and will be expected to contribute to the development and offering of the postgraduate program in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, The appointment will be for a pe- riod of two years Salary is commensurate with qualifica- tions, Applications will be received until the Chair is filled.
