Port Of Mobile

  • Shell Oil Company has announced they will sell bunker fuels at the Port of Mobile, Ala.

Barging arrangements will enable them also to provide bunkers at the neighboring ports of Pensacola, Fla., Pascagoula and Gulfport, Miss.

Long-term terminal arrangements have been concluded and a blender has been installed to provide a complete line of marine bunker fuels, namely MFO, TFO and MDF.

Shell's decision to provide services at Mobile was based on forecasts of increased port tonnage and augmented by the completion of the Tombigbee Barge Canal in 1984, which will connect the port with the entire Mississippi and Ohio River Systems.

Mobile is also strategically relative to Shell's Gulf Coast manufacturing and distribution facilities.
