Cantrell is the current Atlantic Area command master chief and will relieve the current master chief of the Coast Guard during a change of watch ceremony scheduled for May 22. The Master Chief Petty Of cer of the Coast Guard (MCPO-CG) is the top senior enlisted leader in the Coast Guard and serves as an advisor to the Commandant of the Coast Guard in matters affecting the enlisted mem-bers of the Coast Guard, both active and reserve, and their families.
