Positions are full-time annual appointment with benefits. These positions will workwith the University?s Environmental Quality Laboratory which serves the coastal and inland waters of northeastern South Carolina. Both positions will be involved with field and lab work listed below. The second position will additionally have a pri- mary responsibility to serve as scientific support of several volunteer water quality monitoring programs. The following parame-ters are routinely measured: bacteria, chlorophyll, nutrients, BOD5, organic carbon, turbidity, pH and alkalinity. Field meas- urements are made with in-situ meters. Applicants should be able to participate in research cruises, train others in sampling and analytical techniques, and interact effectively with stu- dents and volunteer monitors. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in science and one (1) year related job experience. Applicant will possess strong field, lab- oratory and computer skills. Must also maintain a valid SC dri-ver's license and be a strong swimmer.
