News Triton to Reveal New Submersibles in Monaco Triton Submarines will debut Þ ve new models at the 2013 Monaco Yacht show September 25-28. Triton will add to its family of yacht-based submersibles with the addition of four-, six- and eight- passenger models as well as a two- passenger model rated for 5,500 ft. (1,675m) and the Triton 36000/3 Full Ocean Depth (rated for 36,000 ft./11,000m). ÒTriton broke new ground with the Triton 3300/3. The 3300/3Õs acrylic sphere is the largest and thickest ever produced for a sub- mersible,Ó said Patrick Lahey, Presi- dent, Triton. ÒTritonÕs newest models will once again set the standard for performance and innovation. We are looking forward to introducing our four-, six- and eight-passenger deep submersibles at the 2013 Monaco Yacht Show.Ó Triton will also feature submersible support vessel (SSV) designs devel- oped in partnership with Bury De-sign. SSV designs include the unique Triton Launch and Recovery Cata- maran (LARC), a highly efÞ cient SSV capable of speeds up to 20 knots with a range of up to 1,000 nm. The 23-m LARC is capable of launching and recovering any of TritonÕs two- or three-passenger models in a wide range of sea states making it unique in the world. Fugro Chance Inc. provided 3D acous- tic metrology on a large 36-inch diam- eter spool piece, despite environmental and logistical challenges. The metrology was performed from a platform in Enlace Litoral Tabasco, Gulf of Mexico at a water depth of 25m. Active lines from the platform created a noisy auditory environment and the shallow water depth provided addition- al challenges in the long baseline (LBL) acoustic operations. Once measurements were Þ nalized, the spool piece was welded to the exist- ing pipeline and then set back down on the seabed. With limited tolerance for such a large diameter spool piece to Þ t into the riser brackets, the delivery of precise mea- surements was crucial for on-time com- pletion of the project. This was one of the shallowest 3D acoustic metrology projects Fugro Chance has ever completed and the spool piece was the largest in diameter acoustically measured.
