expect from their ROV service. The ca- pability, effi ciency and reliability of our service are leading the ROV industry and we are delighted to be able to expand our fl eet. “The UHD-III is the most advanced and versatile 250-hp ROV on the market and through its highly-intelligent manage- ment system, it offers the best perfor- mance for the most diffi cult deepwater tasks including the highest thrust perfor- mance for ultra-heavy duty tasks. It also builds on the commitment that ROVOP and Ceona share to use technology, oper- ated by the most experienced personnel, that offers a game changer for the subsea construction sector.”

Among many of the other UHD-III fea- tures is that with its ISOL-8 auxiliary pump of 150-hp capacity for intervention applications, the vehicle delivers com- bined pressures and fl ows that cannot be achieved with conventional ROV sys- tems. This enables ROV compliance with

API Standard 53 which requires a sec- ondary intervention method on blowout preventers to close rams in less than 45 seconds and, as such, offers considerable cost reduction for secondary BOP inter- vention. Delivery dates on the remaining four ROVs are all during 2014.

MacArtney Upgrades MMT FOCUS-2 Systems

MacArtney performed an upgrade of two FOCUS-2 ROTV systems (left) belonging to Sweden’s MMT. Both vehicles have been fi tted with new equipment to carry out geophysical survey missions for clients within oil, gas and renewable energy indus- tries. Complementing the side scan sonar and sub bottom profi ler already onboard, the MMT FOCUS-2 systems have been fully equipped with a multi beam echo sounder, an inertial navigation system and a doppler velocity log.
