Underlying the impact is the ability to understand cause and effect relationship in the ocean environment as well as more precisely determine storm impact and impact mitiga- tion. Ultimately, in many cases, decisions will be made on how to deploy assets to reduce the negative consequences of an activity or event (or enhance positive consequences).

As an industry we will continue to develop vehicles and in- struments that facilitate the collection of better data, under- stand the relationship of that data to a future event, process the information in a time relevant manner and provide that data to decision makers. We will do this in collaboration with academia and government organizations.
