Wreckage of USS Ward Found in the Philippines

The U.S. Navy warship that famously ? red the ? rst American shot in World War II has been found resting on the seabed in Ormoc Bay near Ponson Island in the Philippines. USS Ward was discovered and documented by Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Paul G.

Allen’s expedition crew aboard Research Vessel (R/V) Petrel, who released video images of the wreck just prior to the anniversary of the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.

Arctic Open

Eni began drilling a new well in U.S. waters off the north coast of Alaska, becoming the ? rst company to do so since 2015.

The oil and gas ? rm is work- ing from an arti? cial island in the Beaufort Sea about three miles off Oliktok Point in the Arctic Ocean. The well is expected to run more than 6 miles (10 km) long.
