In Gulliver's Travels, Jonathan Swift wrote about a race of industrious and determined men who were only six inches tall. Here you can see a real-life parallel; our workers on a container ship are dwarfed by the size of the ship.

Their results are giant-sized: Normal time for the conversion is just six months; often we better that by a whole month. Only the cost is Lilliputian: about a third as much as building a new vessel of comparable capacity and performance.
