FIRST FOR HONDURAS: The modern and fully auto- mated combination ship Morazan (shown above) is the first cargo ship to fly the national flag of Honduras.
Named after the liberator of Honduras, the Morazan was officially greeted in Porto Cortez by the president and first lady of Honduras on its maiden voyage from Gijon,
Spain, where it was built. The vessel was presented to the president of Honduras by Joe Teitelbaum, president of
Eagle Inc., Miami, Fla., co-owners of Conasa Line with the Honduran Government. Captained by Honduran Ar- turo Fernandez and crewed by graduates from the Hon- duran Merchant Marine Academy, the new vessel will operate from Miami in .two-way cargo trade between the
Republic of Honduras and the United States. Designed to carry 143 dry or refrigerated containers, the Morazan can carry more than 2,000 tons of high dollar value general cargo plus 160 tons of edible oil.
Potable Water Aboard Ship
Made Pollution-Free Using
Bull & Roberts U-V Purifier
Water can now be made pollution-free at an operating cost of approximately 5 cents per 100,000 gallons by an ultra-violet water puri- fier being marketed by Bull & Roberts, Inc.,
Murray Hill, N.J.
Water that is safe today nray be polluted to- morrow. It may be clear without being pure, look good but be contaminated. Germs and viruses in water can cause polio, infectious hepatitis or jaundice, dysentery, typhoid or cholera.
The U-V Water Purifier makes water 100 percent safe for drinking, cooking, washing, or for use in products and processing. It achieves complete purification without chlorine or in- jurious chemicals, and frees water of all germs without changing its natural taste or impart- ing any odor.
It is an electronically monitored liquid puri- fication system that is easy to install, requires little or no maintenance, and exceeds U.S.
Department of Health requirements for this type of equipment.
The Ultra-Violet Water Purifier is particu- larly adaptable to potable water systems, since water stored aboard ship, on offshore plat- forms, drilling rigs or cargo piers, is susceptible to contamination. Whether the demand is for 100 gallons per hour or 1,000,000 gallons per day, there is a U-V Water Purifier to meet the requirements.
