It's the first real advance in nylon rope since 1958 when American introduced its
PYC line. After two successful years of use in a wide variety of heavy duty tow- ing jobs, Nu-Blu is now an established favorite of many outstanding workboat operators.
Fabricated from DuPont 707 nylon yarn and tinted blue for positive identification,
Nu-Blu Nylon is available for heavy marine use in the following constructions and sizes: 3 strand—4Vz" through 15" circumference
Square Braided—6" through 10" circumference
Based on a comparison with the best nylon rope prior to Nu-Blu, laboratory tests have shown a 100% improvement in abrasion resistance; field tests, an increase of at least 50% in wear life.
Laboratory weathering data indicate that Nu-Blu Nylon is 100% more durable under outdoor conditions than some competitive nylon rope.
If you haven't hauled a Nu-Blu line aboard, call AMERICAN to schedule your order NOW ••••

Through MacGregor South East
Asia, the Singapore shipyards, such as Jurong, Keppel and Sem- bawang will be able to benefit from the MacGregor Organisation's ex- perience and expertise in hatch covers, ro/ro ramps and decks, hull doors and side ports. Presently en- gaged in producing cargoships in- cluding Freedom vessels, these shipbuilders will soon be joined in
Singapore by the new Hitachi-Ro- bin-Zosen and Mitsubishi (Singa- pore) yards.
Having considerable repair expe- rience, the Singapore yards are al- so skilled in conversion work, a field where MacGregor know-how extends from simple side port in- stallations to complete ro/ro con- versions.
There is a large shipbuilding complex under construction at Pa- sir Gudang on the Malaysian Coast opposite Singapore, while the In- donesian and Thailand Govern- ments both have ambitious plans for their own repair and building centers.
The ASEAN .(Assoc. of S.E.
Asian Nations) fleets are rapidly enlarging with the addition of new and second-hand general cargo ton- nage. It is for such vessels and for regional shipping lines that .Mac-
Gregor South East Asia can pro- vide equipment and know-how, in- cluding the retrofit of modern hatch covers. Lines of ASEAN in- clude Neptune Orient (Singapore),
Malaysian International Shipping
Corp., and the National Lines of
Indonesia and Thailand.
