Offers New Bulletin On logicmaster' Unit

A new .bulletin describing- Logic- master™ Marine Propulsion Con- trol Systems for pilothouse control for marine engines with hydraulic clutch reverse gears has been is- sued by WABCO Fluid Power Di- vision, Lexington, Ky.

Bulletin M-151.00 describes the

Logicmaster pneumatic propulsion control system featuring interlocks and protective circuits for safe, er- ror-free operation under all maneu- vering conditions. With Logic- master control systems, propulsion machinery responds to maneuver- ing demands without wear or dam- age from high-speed clutch engage- ment, or engine stalling on fast re- versals.

The bulletin gives operating se- quences, selection information and full details of three types of Logic- master control systems. The Logic- master Control 'Unit features in- clude: power boost during clutch engagement to prevent engine stalling; clutch pressure throttle interlocks to reduce clutch wear by preventing engagement of high throttle settings; timed or propor- tional reversing interlocks to re- duce stalling possibilities by allow- ing engine and propeller speeds to stabilize at acceptable levels be- fore reversal is permitted; and shaft brake interlocks to synchro- nize the clutch and shaft brake operation for smooth maneuver-

Texaco Inc. Appoints

William J. Carlin

William J. Carlin

Texaco Inc. has announced the appointment of William J. Carlin as manager of the company's inter- national marine sales activities in

Latin America and West Africa. In his new position, located in New

York, Mr. Carlin will assume the responsibilities of Charles L.

Hauck, who is retiring after 28 years of service with Texaco.

Mr. Carlin joined Texaco in 1967 in the international marine sales department, after serving with a

Texaco affiliate company for 13 years. He graduated from Ford- ham University in New York City, with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1968. In 1969, Mr. Carlin was named manager, marine sales in

Panama. In 1971, he was appoint- ed marketing assistant in Texaco's international marine sales depart- ment in New York. 'In 1972, he was named assistant manager for international marine sales in Latin

America and West Africa.

Mr. Hauck was graduated from

Lebanon Valley College in Ann- ville, Pa., in 193'5 with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics. He joined Texaco in 1946 and served in various sales positions until 1967, when he was appointed assistant general manager for international marine sales in the Western Hemi- sphere and West Africa. In 1971,

Mr. Hauck was appointed assist- ant general manager for interna- tional marine sales in Latin Amer- ica and West Africa.
