GHH Sterkrade To Build 15,000-Ton Floating Dock

For Neorion Shipyards

A contract has been awarded to Gutehoffnungshutte Sterkrade

Aktiengesellschaft (GHH Ster- krade), Oberhausen, West Ger- many, for the supply of a floating drydock. The order was placed by

Neorion Shipyards, Syros S.A. (Aegean Sea), a member of the

Goulandris Group, to whom an- other dock of 25,000 tons capacity was delivered in 1971.

The new drydock will have a lifting capacity of 15,000 tons, a length of approximately 640 feet, a width of 136 feet, and a height of 48 feet. Delivery is scheduled for summer 1978.
