Aluminum & Chemical Corpora- tion in Mobile, Ala., is subcon- tracted to coat the inside of the hulls with a special cryogenic in- sulating foam, and fabricating the 15 huge, Conch-design tanks of aluminum plate up to 1 y2 inch thick.
Like her sister ships, the basic specifications of the El Paso Sa- vannah are: length overall (ex- treme), 931 feet 6 inches; length between perpendiculars, 887 feet; breadth molded (beam), 140 feet 6 inches; design draft, 36 feet, with a cargo capacity at design draft (approximately) of 125,000 cubic meters. Her propulsion is 41,000 horsepower.
Avondale Shipyards, Incorpo- rated is a subsidiary of Ogden
Corporation which operates in the major market areas of metals, transportation and food. Although principally shipbuilders, Avondale is a diversified industry with di- visions that include quick repair yards, a foundry, a special prod- ucts division, steel sales, and a facility near the Gulf at Bayou
Black which builds offshore drill- ing structures.

LNG Conference Invites
Proposals For Papers
The Programme Committee for the Sixth International Confer- ence on Liquefied Natural Gas to be held in Kyoto, Japan, April 6- 11, 1980, invites proposals for pa- pers. The main themes of the five-day conference, which also includes parallel Workshop Ses- sions and an Exhibition, will be: "LNG and World Energy Sup- plies" ; "Developments in LNG
Technology"; "LNG Tankers and
Pipelines"; and "Financial, Legal and Policy Aspects of LNG
Trade."
Offers of papers related to these subjects, accompanied by a 150- word summary in French and
English, are requested not later than March 31, 1979. They should be sent to the Secretary of the
Programme Committee, Dr. David
Roe, at British Gas Corporation, 59 Bryanston Street, London W1A 2AZ, England.
Responsibility for the selection of papers to be presented rests with the Programme Committee.
Authors will be informed of the acceptance or otherwise of papers by June 1979, and completed pa- pers must be ready by Decem- ber 1, 1979.

Operations Supervisor
Gerald A. Plank has been ap- pointed supervisor of operations and diving for Crowley Environ- mental Services Corporation, Se- attle, Wash., according to an an- nouncement by Barry Paulsen,
CES Northwest Division general manager.
Mr. Plank has nearly 10 years' experience in underwater con- struction, salvage and repair. He most recently served as a diving supervisor with Manloves Under- water Repair, Seattle, and served in the same capacity with CES parent company Crowley Mari- time Corporation from 1975-77.
Mr. Plank's background also in- cludes two years as an instructor ing drydocl 1979.
