Title XI Approved For

Houston Offshore Jackup

To Cost $28.8 Million

The Maritime Administration has approved in principle an ap- plication from Houston Offshore

Limited IV, a subsidiary of Hous- ton Offshore International, Hous- ton, for a Title XI guarantee to aid in financing the construction of a jackup drilling barge.

Bethlehem Steel Corporation,

Sparrows Point, Md., was selected to build the 220-foot-long, mat- supported drilling barge. Deliv- ery has been set for June 1, 1981.

Houston Offshore Limited IV plans to use the barge along the

U.S. Gulf Coast.

The approved Title XI guaran- tee amount of $21,607,000 repre- sents 75 percent of the barge's $28,810,000 estimated actual cost.

Irv H. Dennen has been ap- pointed president of the Fair- banks Morse Engine Division at

Beloit, Wise. He assumes respon- sibility for all of the operating functions of this important divi- sion of Colt Industries.

Mr. Dennen first joined Colt as president of the Pratt & Whitney

Machine Tool Division in 1970.

In 1979 he joined the Ingersoll

Milling Machine Company as ex- ecutive vice president. He is a graduate of the University of

Michigan with BSE and MSE de- grees in mechanical and indus- trial engineering. After service as an officer in the U.S. Navy, he obtained a law degree from De-

Paul University.

Fairbanks Morse manufactures and markets a broad range of in- ternal combustion engines, utiliz- ing a variety of oil and gas fuels.

These engines are offered in sin- gle and multiple applications from 680 bhp up to the highest avail- able in the U.S. market.
