Floating Weir Skimmer

Collects Oil Spills In

Harbors Or Offshore

The Skim-Pak floating weir skimmer is a rapid response, oil- spill cleanup tool for use in the harbor or at dockside, yet it works well in the rough, high seas. Skim-Pak systems are said to recover up to 4,000 bhp at ex- cellent oil to water recovery ra- tios. Used as a "first line of defense," Skim-Pak can be de- ployed in minutes from any ves- sel, offshore platforms, or along shorelines and harbors.

The unit's patented self-adjust- ing design operates at all flow rates regardless of attitude. Au- tomatic operation does not re- quire the continuous attention of an operator. When used with the optional hand control wand, Skim-

Pak works particularly well alongside docks, inland water- ways, anywhere other units can- not be easily deployed, the man- ufacturer states. The skimmer readily attaches to oil-spill fences or other floating barriers for con- tinuous recovery operations.

Skim-Pak uses a patented de- sign that exploits the phenome- non! of laminar-flow hydraulics to recover a high-ratio of, for ex- ample, oil off water—even at sub- stantial flow rates. The manufac- turer says the Skim-Pak is suit- able for operation in the most extreme environments, and can

We build six Valve

Operating Stands... and that's only the beginning.

Our new fabricated steel valve stand gives us the flexibility to offer six standard models to choose from. The basic valve stand can be supplied in two heights - 14" and 24", with three stainless steel stem diameters of 1", 114" and IV2". Handwheels are 8" through 24" diameters. An indicator on the stem, moves up and down to show relative open or closed valve position.

Because of the flexibility of this design, many options are available. The stem may be modified to accom- modate reach rod or cable coupling for extension below decks. The indicator can be designed to coin- cide with the operation of the valve.
