American President Lines

Reorganization Approved

By Maritime Subsidy Board

The Maritime Subsidy Board has approved a "Plan and Agree- ment of Reorganization" provid- ing, among other things, for the formation of a new corporation as the owner of the subsidized Amer- ican President Lines, Ltd. (APL).

The new firm is American Pres- ident Companies, Ltd. (APC).

Under the plan, submitted to the board on behalf of APL last month, all capital stock in Nato- mas Transportation Co., the sole shareholder of APL, will be dis- tributed to APC, after which all capital stock in APC will be dis- tributed to the existing Natomas

Company shareholders.

The reorganization stems from the proposed purchase of Natomas by Diamond Shamrock Corp.
