THE ASEA OPTITRIM SYSTEM SHOWS YOU
HOW TO CUT FUEL COSTS
AND PAYS FOR ITSELF IN LESS THAN A YEAR
OPTITRIM: • tells in figures how many tons of fuel/day can be saved if the ship is loaded to optimum trim at a given speed and displacement. • helps to plan the loading of cargo, the bunkering of fuel oil and fresh water and the correct position- ing of ballast in order to make maximum fuel savings.

Each hold can be loaded either in percent, volume or weight. In the case of percent and volume a stowing factor has to be added.

An estimated average speed of the vessel is used as an input. The instrument calculates the OPTIMUM trim for
BASIC mean draft and presents the optimum fuel saving in tons per day when the ship is retrimmed to its optimum.
