SUPERVISOR OF SLUDGE VESSEL

OPERATIONS

The New York City Department of Environmental

Protection, Department of Water Resources, seeks a supervisor of sludge vessel operations.

Individual will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of four coastwise operated diesel propelled tankers used for the ocean disposal of sewage sludge from New York City water pollution control plants. 5 years experience as a naval or coast guard

Chief Warrant Officer or commissioned officer in- cluding 3 years in an administrative and/or supervisory capacity is necessary. 5 years of similar experience with a large shipping line is also acceptable.

The selected candidate will supervise 54 people on Wards Island, New York in many functions in- cluding operations, examining ships' logs, preparing reports on the condition of vessels, consulting with industry reps, adopting new techniques for greater efficiency and recom- mending improvements.
