To Vice President

Northvale, N.J., has announced the promotion of Harry S. Ford to vice president and director of technical services.
Autronica Marine U.S.A. repre- sents the Norwegian Companies of
Autronica A/S and Moland Auto- mation A/S, covering a board range of marine electronic monitoring and alarm systems.
Mr. Ford's extensive back- ground in the electronic and ma- rine field includes consulting, elec- tronic systems design, marketing, and field service engineering. He has been involved with shipboard computerized controls, diesel en- gine condition monitoring sys- tems, engine controls, automation equipment, and monitoring systems.
Mr. Ford obtained his B.S. de- gree in electrical engineering and his M.B.A. in management (for ex- ecutives) from Fairleigh Dickinson
University, Rutherford, N.J. His continuing education includes a micro-computer systems course at

Avondale Awarded $58.6
Million Increase For
LSD Material Procurement
Avondale Shipyards Incorpo- rated, New Orleans, has been awarded a $58,600,000 face value increase to a previously awarded fixed-price-incentive contract for procurement of long lead time ma- terial for the dock landing ship
LSD-45 and LSD-46. The Naval
Sea Systems Command, Washing- ton, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Included are pumps specially de- signed for handling corrosives, ab- rasives, lubricating and non-lubri- cating liquids, and liquids with viscosities to more that 100,000 ssu.
In addition to a description of the unique Blackmer design and operating features, the bulletin contains fully illustrated sections on individual pump series ranging in capacity from five to 2,200 gpm (18.9 to 8.327 liters/min) with op- erating pressures to 150 psi (8.8 kg/cm2) at temperatures to 500°F (260°C).
