General Dynamics, Electric Boat

Division, Groton, Conn., has been awarded a $33,100,000 face value increase to a previously awarded cost-no-fee contract for long lead time material for FY-85 Ohio class submarines. The Naval Sea Sys- tems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Duranceau Joins Anixter

As Area Manager

Mike Duranceau has joined

Anixter Bros., Inc., as Area Man- ager for Idaho and Montana, it was announced by Roland Wat- kins, vice president of Anixter's

Wire and Cable division.

Mr. Duranceau will direct sales of Anixter's complete line of elec- trical, electronic and communica- tions wire and cable products to all markets in Idaho and Montana.

Eastern Marine Awarded

Contract To Construct

Auto/Passenger Ferry

Eastern Marine, Inc. of Panama

City, Fla., recently signed a con- tract with Lake Champlain Trans- portation of Burlington, Vermont, for the construction of an automo- bile/passenger ferry. The vessel will have a length overall of 180 feet, beam of 43 feet 6 inches, and depth of 12 feet.

Lake Champlain Ferries pres- ently operates seven vessels on three routes on Lake Champlain between New York State and Ver- mont. The new vessel will serve the route between Grand Isle, Ver- mont, and Cumberland Head, N.Y., which is within three miles of

Plattsburgh. The company now op- erates two 140-foot boats on this crossing on a year-round basis.

During the May through October summer season, 60-70 percent of the traffic on this route is commer- cial, the balance being tourist; during the winter season, 90 per- cent of the traffic is commercial and 10 percent tourist.

The new vessel under construc- tion at Eastern Marine's yard is scheduled for delivery in Septem- ber of this year.

Litton Systems Incorporated,

Guidance and Control Systems,

Woodland Hills, Calif., has been awarded a $3,111,768 firm-fixed- price contract to exercise an option for eight advanced gyro compasses (AN/WSN-2), ancillary spares, equipment, data, and services.

Litton Systems was also awarded an $18,750,000 firm-fixed-price contract for 33 AN/WSN-5 inertial navigation systems, ancillary spares, equipment, data, and ser- vices. The Naval Sea Systems

Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity for both contracts.
