Miller Named Deputy

Robert R. Miller as deputy direc- tor of marine engineering. He will be responsible for implementing a re- cently awarded contract for engi- neering and technical support to the

Auxiliary Systems Subgroup of the

NAVSEA Ship Design and Engi- neering Directorate.

Since joining Rosenblatt in 1976 as a senior marine engineer, Mr.

Miller has provided support for major ship design projects and pro- gressed to manager of the machin- ery division. His previous 22 years of

Naval experience included concep- tion and establishment of the

Navy's Pollution Abatement Pro- gram for forces afloat, chief engineer of an aircraft carrier, submarine and destroyer duty, and other surface ship assignments.

Jordan Lieb Joins Marine

Coatings As Vice President

John Arbizzani, president of

Marine Coatings, Inc., recently an- nounced that Jordan Lieb has joined the company as vice presi- dent. He was formerly with Atlantic

Sandblasting and Coatings, Inc. as manager of sales and estimating.

Prior to that he worked at Tampa

Shipyards as a senior ship repair estimator, and as an estimator and production ship superintendent at

Maryland Shipbuilding and Dry- dock Company.

Mr. Lieb brings with him the ship repair experience to assist in the coordination between the ship- yards and the sandblasting contrac- tor, which will minimize conflict of work areas and expedite job comple- tion.

Rights For Renk Drives

The Falk Corporation and Zahn- raderfabrik Renk of Augsburg, West

Germany, have signed a license agreement that grants Falk the ex- clusive sales and manufacturing rights in the U.S., Canada, and

Mexico for Renk Marine Reversing

Gear Drives.

These drives, which will be of- fered in addition to the line of marine drives traditionally offered by Falk, are said to incorporate state-of-the-art technology, includ- ing multiple disc hydraulic clutches.

The agreement may be expanded in the future to include other types of Renk enclosed drives, according to Falk management.

The Falk Corporation, a subsid- iary of Sundstrand Corporation, is a leading producer of standard and custom gear drives and flexible cou- plings.

Renk is a subsidiary of GHH (Gu- tehoffnungshutte), one of the larg- est engineering groups in Europe, and is known worldwide for its spe- cial-purpose marine propulsion gears.
