The U.S. Coast Guard presently has two openings for Naval Architects. These posi- tions are at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters (Washington, D C.) in the Conceptual Design and Arrangements Section, Design Branch.

Applicants should have a technical back- ground in Naval Architecture as applicable to conventional surface ships, icebreakers and advanced marine vehicles. These positions re- quire a knowledge of hydrodynamics, sea- keeping, maneuvering, computers, hull form development and lines fairing.

Junior Position

GS: 5-11 $14,390 - $34,292

Requires Bachelors Degree in Engineering plus 3 years of progressively responsible spe- cialized experience in Naval Architecture for the GS-11 level (1 year for GS-5/7, 2 years for

GS-9).

Senior Position
