Impact, abrasives and friction can all be working away at your rudder bearings without you knowing it. Until it's too late.
That's why it's wise to assume that your rudder bearings will always be getting rough treatment. Then you can prepare for it. With
Whether it's at the pintle, the stock or the steering gear, Thordon delivers better perform- ance than anything else you're using now.
Consider shock-resistance. A sudden impact that would crack a phenolic or deform a bronze bearing has no effect on Thordon. It absorbs the shock and bounces back.
Consider steering torque. It's less with
Thordon, thanks to its lower co-efficient of friction.
Consider service. Thordon raw stock is warehoused in 50 countries around the world. So wherever there's a Thordon distributor and a lathe, there's a Thordon rudder bearing.
Cut the odds on premature rudder bearing failure. Get all the facts on Thordon, and start betting on a sure thing.

A Significant Oil
Discovery Off Norway
Tenneco Oil Exploration and Pro- duction recently announced a sig- nificant oil discovery offshore Nor- way on Haltenbank Block 6507/7, the second major hydrocarbon dis- covery this year on the block, in which the company is a partner.
The 6507/7-3 well flowed at a combined daily rate of 15,491 bar- rels of oil and 8.94 million cubic feet of natural gas from three Middle
Jurassic Age intervals between 7,769-8,957 feet. Total depth of the well is 9,350 feet.
The wildcat, approximately 1.5 miles south of the 6507/7-2 discov- ery announced previously, disclosed a different oil accumulation from the earlier well. The #2 well flowed 14,343 barrels of oil/ condensate and 74.4 million cubic feet of natural gas a day from Middle and Lower Juras- sic Age formations.
The #3 well is in the Norwegian
Sea, approximately 150 miles north- west of Trondheim, Norway. Water depth in this area is approximately 1,135 feet.
The block, acquired in Norway's 8th License Round, is operated by
Conoco Norway Inc. with 30 percent working interest. Partners, in addi- tion to Tenneco's 10 percent work- ing interest, are Arco Norway Inc., 10 percent, and Statoil, 50 percent.
Additional drilling will be re- quired to determine the extent of the field, which has been named
