International maritime shipping company seeks a senior-level managerfor international bulk shipping operations.
The Vice President, Business Development and
Planning, will formulate long-term goals and objec- tives regarding shipping operations; will utilize computer techniques to analyze activities, costs, operations and forecast data to assess progress to- wards stated goals; will participate in executive- level strategic meetings regarding same; will de- velop new business opportunities and joint ven- tures; and will manage current market initiatives, customer relationships and new marketing pro- grams.
The Vice President, Business Development and
Planning will be responsible for financial analysis of international contracts and for negotiating and structuring (including drafting) complicated inter- national transportation contracts and purchase and sale arrangements with foreign and domestic cli- ents; will have direct supervisory responsibility for daily operations with respect to international joint venture activities; will participate in recruitment of senior-level management personnel; and will act as the general manager of operations in the absence of the President and Executive Vice President.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight years of experience in senior- level management of a major international shipping concern. Familiarity with structuring and negotiat- ing international shipping contracts will also be re- quired, and the applicant must be available for fre- quent worldwide travel.
The Vice President, Business Development and
Planning, will report directly to the President and will be paid $90,000 per year.

Ocean Engineering Faculty Position: The Oceanography and Ocean Engineering Dept. at Florida Institute of Tech- nology invites applications for a visiting faculty position in the Ocean Engineering Program beginning in September, 1986. The position is for one year, with the possibility of re- newal for a second year. Applicants should have a strong background in marine vehicles or offshore structures and/ or systems. The duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate systems and design courses, supervision of stu- dent projects, and participation in relevant research.
