The Bureau of Transit Operations of the NYC Dept. of

Transportation seeks qualified engineers to participate in the design and construction of ferry terminals, ma- rine maintenance facilities, and ferry boats. Strong technical background, knowledge of construction methods, and familiarity with applicable codes are ne- cessary for the Engineering and Superintendent of

Construction positions. Excellent verbal, writing, and analytical skills are essential for ALL positions; compu- ter skills are a plus.

CIVIL ENGINEER: Structural design and construction experience preferably in marine structures, piles, bulk- heads, piers, terminals and maintenance buildings. BS in civil engineering, a NYS PE license, and 4 years engi- neering experience required.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER: Industrial and commercial experience required; marine/naval experience pre- ferred. BS in electrical engineering, a NYS PE license, and 4 years engineering experience required.

SUPERINTENDENT OF CONSTRUCTION: to oversee large building projects with multiple contracts. Eight years of building or waterfront experience required; 3 years towards an engineering or engineering-related degree program may be substituted for some of the re- quired experience.

MARINE ENGINEER: Marine engineering and/or naval architectural experience in designing, planning, sched- uling, and developing all phases of contracts; experience in preparing contracts for new construction and modifi- cation of hull structures, propulsion systems, and main/ auxiliary machinery pertaining to ferry vessels.

CONTRACTS SPECIALIST: Contract procedures/sub- missions experience and the preparation/processing of change orders.
