Sumitomo Receives Order

For IMC Bulk Carrier

Japanese shipbuilder Oshima

Shipbuilding Co. a unit of

Sumitomo Corp., recently received an order from bulk shipping opera- tor International Maritime Carri- ers (IMC) for a handysize 40,000- dwt bulk carrier.

The ship, valued at $25 million, will be delivered in mid-1994. The order for the vessel was placed by

Panama-based Laverton Naviga- tion Co., a subsidiary of IMC Hold- ings Ltd. The bulker is the fourth new ship order placed in a matter of a few months for the IMC fleet.
