Maritime Industries Association's 44th Annual Technical Conference, which will be held at the Ottawa

Congress Center and the Westin

Hotel, Ottawa, Ontario, February 17-18, 1992. "As a result of the resounding success of the Canadian Shipbuild- ing & Offshore Exhibition," said

CMIA president J.Y. Clarke, "we have decided to include CSOE '92 on the program for our 1992 confer- ence. This added feature has re- sulted in a tremendous interest in the conference, the largest technical marine conference held in Canada.

CSOE '92 will be a major component of the conference."

Mr. Clarke pointed out that the technical conference's open sessions, which begin at 9 a.m. on February 18, will be presented in adjacent rooms on the Capitol Hall level at the Ottawa Congress Center.

Double-hull ships, offshore tech- nology, high-speed craft, and the marine environment will be among some of the most noteworthy topics addressed by the conference's 15 technical papers and presentations.

During the "Shipbuilding and Re- pairing" session of the conference, for example, "Placing into an Arctic

Environment Context the Move To- wards Double Hulled Ships" will be presented by representatives from

Melville Shipping Ltd. At the same session, Ulstein Maritime will ad- dress its new high-speed craft de- sign in "SES Vessels," while

Congress Hall at the Ottawa Con- gress Center. Exhibitions such as

CSOE '92 help bring together all interested parties in the marine in- dustry. Some 120 booths are avail- able and it is expected that they will all be occupied.

Exhibition hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, February 17, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the following day.

Mr. Clarke noted that the 1991 technical conference and exhibition (CSOE '91) attracted well over 1,200 persons from across Canada and around the world, including inter- national media and government of- ficials.

Registration for the Annual Tech- nical Conference opens at 9 a.m. on

Monday, February 17, on the Con- gress Hall level of the Ottawa Con- gress Center. Registration for the conference entitles visitors to free admission to the exhibition.
