SR. MARINE SUPERINTENDENT

You will be responsible for the operations/maintenance of 4-5 Vela-owned UL/VLCCS; coordinating, scheduling and monitoring tanker operations; investigating ship deficiencies; and monitoring recruitment and performance of officers/crew. Must have experience in the handling of tanker incidents and related oil spills. Requires a BS in

Naval Architecture with a minimum of 12 years' experience, including 8 years at sea in international trade as a deck officer or engineer officer and 4 years in shore-based marine management; BS in Nautical Science or Marine

Engineering acceptable; Master's preferred.

SR. MARINE ENGINEER

Responsibilities include project engineering, which involves coordinating/defining new vessel building projects from concept to delivery and identifying/integrating classification society requirements; port engineering, which involves providing maintenance and repair service to the Vela fleet, including routine vessel inspection, repair specifications, estimates and on-site inspection during refit; and maintenance coordination, which involves providing support in ship repair activities, including planning, quality assurance, diagnostics, estimating and scheduling work. Experience in vessel operations and/or construction and repair necessary. Must have extensive knowledge of international regulatory body requirements, classification standards, marine engineering practices, specifications and rules.

Requires a BS in Naval Architecture with a minimum of 12 years' experience; BS in Marine Engineering acceptable.
