HDW Appoints Roland

Marine As New Agents

Roland Marine, Inc. of New York has been appointed exclusive agents in the U.S. of Howaldtswerke-

Deutsche Werft AG (HDW), Kiel,

Germany, for repairs and conver- sions of ships. In early July HDW inaugurated its newly-acquired floating dock with a lifting capacity of 55,000 tons. The acquisition of the dock is part of the yard's sub- stantial "HDW 2000" investment concept, which also provides for the installation of new, state-of-the-art equipment and the general improve- ment of the structure of HDW's or- ganization to increase its competi- tiveness.
