Inspect cargo of seagoing vessels to ascertain condition prior to loading or discharge including petroleum products, chemicals, bulk, break bulk and containerized cargo. Ex- amine cargo in stow to evaluate cause and extent of any damage. Advise vessel masters on preparation of bill of lading and other documentation. Advise vessel crews on stowage of all types of cargo, including: dangerous and heavy cargo such as grain, chemicals and petroleum. In- spect hull, machinery and equipment of vessels to ascer- tain condition following collision or damage to cargo and prepare reports for insurance carriers. Provide expert tes- timony in litigation regarding observations concerning ves- sel and cargo condition. Consult on all aspects of marine transportation. REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Nautical Studies; 7 years experience in job or 7 years experience as Officer of Oceangoing Ships at 2nd or 1st Officer or Master Level; Unlimited Oceangoing
