Alaska, is responsible for serving as the owners representative in the coordination and manage- ment of complex engineering, refurbishment and repower projects for vessels of the Alaska Marine

Highway System.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with a major in naval architecture, marine engineering or a closely re- lated field and six years of professional experience in the design, construction, renovation or modifica- tion of ships. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year- for-year basis.

Galveston invites applications for two full-time nine month positions as senior lecturer and lecturer. One position requires specialty in the areas of: Marine

Propulsion Plants, Diesel Engine Technology, Marine Thermodynamics and

Heat Transfer, Fundamentals of Naval Architecture, and Fluid Mechanics.

Another position requires specialty in the areas of: Marine Auxiliary Systems.

Marine Technology and the Environment, Steam and Diesel Propulsion Plants, and Marine Air Conditioning & Refrigeration. These positions are available commencing with the Fall 1994 semester. Applicants with at least a masters degree in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,

Marine Engineering Technology, and at least three years of relevant industrial experience are preferred. Registration as a Professional Engineer or currentU.S.

Coast Guard Chief Engineer or First Assistant Engineer License (unlimited steam and diesel preferred) is required.
