Communicating The Latest In Electronic Communications,

The Radio Technical Commission for Maritime Services (RTCM) will conduct an annual assembly meet- ing May 8, 1994 through May 13, 1994 at the Hyatt Regency in San

Antonio, Texas.

Assembly Sessions included in the 1994 program will address ma- jor changes and technological de- velopments in such areas as Radio

Communications Standards and

Technology; Vessel Traffic Services;

Electronic Chart Development; In- tegrated Bridge Developments;

Radionavigation, including GPS and

Differential GPS; the Global Mari- time Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) implementation; and tele- communications regulatory issues.

The RTCM has a broad member- ship of organizations from the U.S. and other countries, encompassing the entire spectrum of vessel opera- tors, maritime equipment manufac- turers, providers of maritime ser- vices, and governmental agencies.

The Annual Assembly is a mecha- nism for expressing views, recom- mending changes in policy, suggest- ing improvements to present sys- tems, and proposing establishment of new systems.
