Lines has made several recent ap- pointments.
Lou Edmonson has been named manager, training and develop- ment. Mrs.Edmonson was for- merly a performance technologist at simulation training at Fort Knox.
Glenn Hotz has been named as- sistant vice president of safety. Mr.
Hotz was formerly manager of safety for CSX Transportation in Jackson- ville, Fla.
Rebecca A. Miller has been named director of corprate commu- nications. Ms. Miller was formerly an active partner with Business Vi- sions, a marketing and communica- tions group. Lou Edmonson

Walenkamp Named Snot's

Capt. Hans Walenkamp
Captain Hans Walenkamp has been appointed Smit International's group director, Maritime Contract- ing. He will have special responsi- bility for the coordination of salvage activities worldwide.
Capt. Walenkamp has held a number of senior posts at Rotterdam- based Smit since joining the group in 1972. Prior to his new appoint- ment, he was managing director of
Smit Fleet Services — responsible for the operational managament of some 80 vessels.
