EA Systems Elects Ko To

Develop Growth Markets

EA Systems Inc., a vendor of plant design and lifecycle data manage- ment software, has named Stephen

Ko director of Asia-Pacific sales.

Mr. Ko, who is based in Hong Kong, will market the company's Plant

Applications and Systems for

Concurrent Engineering (PASCE) software suite and services throughout Asia and Australasia.

The appointment of Mr. Ko estab- lishes a full-time regional presence for EA Systems, which already sells

Ltd.; Mitsubishi Chemical

Corporation; Mitsui Engineering &

Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., and

Samsung Engineering Co., Ltd.

PASCE is a data-centric, plant engi- neering and data management sys- tem that runs on Windows NT in client/server computing environ- ments.

Its object-based approach has been shown to significantly reduce project costs and schedules, provid- ing a competitive advantage to power and process plant owner/operators, and to the engi- neering firms providing services to them.

The PASCE suite of software applications is distinguished by its integrated database for 2D intelli- gent schematics, (PlantSCHEMA) and 3D physical modeling (PlantVIEW) for data consistency and single-time data entry. In addi- tion to its Asian customer-base, clients of EA Systems include 3M

Flight information service provider Jeppesen has launched a new business unit, Jeppesen-

Marine, and released a new elec- tronic charting software (ECS) package, MarineMap. The new software offers a flexible ECS for both raster and vector-based navi- gation charts, and connects with standard GPS/DGPS and autopi- lots.
