The total two-way travel time is a very accurate measurement of the heavy fuel oil absolute viscosi- ty.

As the piston is driven back and forth, the retaining fence is used to continuously deflect fresh oil sam- ples into the measurement cham- ber. Since the piston is low mass, the sensor is insensitive to vibra- tion or changes in orientation.

The two-way measurement cycle fuel oil temperature is measured using a platinum RTD mounted at the base of the chamber.

In 1996, CAS decided to expand into the worldwide marketplace.

Several European and Far East agents were brought onboard to distribute their Marine & Power product lines.

CAS showcased its HFO viscosi- ty control system in Europe at the 1997 Nor-Shipping exposition in

Oslo, Norway which garnered attention from diesel engine manu- facturers, heavy fuel oil booster manufacturers, ship owners, and shipping personnel.

Most were impressed by the simplicity of the technology, the ruggedness and accuracy of the sensor and the reduced mainte nance required to keep the systen on-line at all times.

In addition, CAS says it pro vides the only field calibrateabk viscosity control system in th< market, ensuring system accuracy

In order to support its distribu torsx 24 hours a day, CAS has developed an in-depth Websiti designed to assist customers trou ble shoot any problems.
