Oil Operations Underway
At Global
Work has commenced at Global

Industries, Ltd. on two contracts associated with
Marathon Oil company's
Oyster and Arnold sub- sea field developments located in Ewing Banks
Blocks 917 and 963 in 1,250 ft. (381 m) and 1,800 ft. (549 m) of water,
Global's reel pipelay barge Chickasaw laid both the Arnold and Oyster flow lines. respectively. Working under con- tract to ABB Offshore Technology,
Global will weld and reel eight miles each of dual six and 10-in. diameter pipe-in-pipe insulated flowlines, which will then be reeled onto Global's Chicasaw reel pipelay barge.
The Oyster and Arnold flowlines will be the third and fourth reeled pipe-in-pipe flowlines in the Gulf of Mexico, and Arnold's 10/6 insu- lated line will reportedly be the largest pipe-in-pipe flowlines laid in the Gulf of Mexico to date. The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
