ED&F Man, based on the require- ments of Mackay Refined Sugars (MRS) of Queensland. The vessel has accordingly provided the
Australian company with versatile new capacity for transporting gran- ulated sugar, produced from cane at its Mackay refinery, to markets in
Australia and New Zealand and fur- ther afield in the southern hemi- sphere and Asia Pacific rim.
The concept behind MRS Pioneer is rooted in considerations of trans- portation efficiency and delivered quality of a refined foodstuff sensi- tive to degradation, contamination and dampness through deficient handling and stowage arrange- ments.
Shipment in bulk makes for sub- stantially more rapid throughput, at
