Marine Control Systems Engineer

Washington State Ferries

WSF is seeking a Marine Control Systems Engineer to develop, implement & manage WSF vessel control systems maintenance, repair upgrades, modification & monitoring. Serves as liaison to control system manufacturers, provides technical info to fleet engineers, and maintains & repairs control system components and updates systems schematics, flow charts & other documentation as necessary.

Required qualifications: Completion of a 2 yr. certified electronic course, and 6 yrs. exp maintaining a variety of marine control systems including silicon controlled rectifier power converter & variable frequency drive systems, and analog electronic & programmable logic controller based control systems.

We will select a college or maritime academy graduate, with at least 10 years' experience in the operation/maintenance of marine diesel engines and related areas. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years proven managerial experience and possess working knowledge of machine shop equipment.
